Feeling Isolated in Private Practice? Join a Peer Consultation Group Designed for Mental Health Therapists
By Rebecca Stone, LMHC-QS of Stone Counseling & Consulting Services, LLC
Professional Peer Consultation: A Helpful and Essential Resource
As a licensed mental health professional in private practice, do you ever feel like you're in it alone?
You care deeply about your clients. You work hard. But without a team to bounce ideas off, private practice can feel isolating — even overwhelming.
You're not the only one.
Peer Consultation for Therapists: Why It Matters
After licensure, therapists often lose access to the built-in support systems from graduate school, internships, or agency work. Suddenly, you're managing complex cases and tough decisions without a clinical sounding board.
That’s where peer consultation comes in.
Peer consultation groups can offer:
Case consultation and clinical feedback
Support for burnout prevention and provider wellness
Practice management strategies
Collaborative discussion with experienced peers
You're not meant to do this work alone. Let's change that.
Peer Support Formats
You may find connection with other providers through various community and online offerings, such as:
Professional organization groups
Informal coffee shop meetups
Private, confidential virtual sessions
Colleagues
While all of these are valuable, they may not always provide consistent, private, small group discussions that allow for rapport building, case consultation, and personalized support.
That’s why we created the Peer Consultation Group for Mental Health Therapists in Private Practice — a supportive, online membership group where you can connect with other licensed clinicians, consult on cases, and grow both personally and professionally.
